Care & Cleaning

Fine jewelry lasts a lifetime with proper care. Follow these tips to keep your pieces looking their best.

Daily Wear

  • Remove jewelry before showering, swimming, or exercising.
  • Apply perfume, lotion, and hairspray before putting on jewelry.
  • Remove rings when washing dishes or using cleaning products.
  • Take off jewelry before bed to avoid bending prongs or chains.

Cleaning at Home

  • Soak gold and diamond jewelry in warm water with a few drops of mild dish soap for 20–30 minutes.
  • Gently brush with a soft-bristle toothbrush, paying attention to the back of stones where dirt collects.
  • Rinse under warm running water (over a bowl, not the drain!) and pat dry with a lint-free cloth.
  • For silver jewelry, use a silver polishing cloth to remove tarnish.
  • Never use toothpaste, baking soda, or harsh chemicals. They can scratch metal and damage stones.

Storage

  • Store each piece separately in a soft pouch or lined compartment to prevent scratching.
  • Keep jewelry away from direct sunlight and extreme heat.
  • Use anti-tarnish strips in your jewelry box for silver pieces.
  • Hang necklaces to prevent tangling. A simple hook or jewelry tree works well.

Watch Care

  • Wipe your watch with a soft cloth after wearing to remove oils and sweat.
  • Avoid exposing watches to extreme temperatures or magnetic fields.
  • Have water-resistant watches pressure-tested annually if you wear them near water.
  • Wind mechanical watches regularly, even when not wearing them.
